DESCRIPTION
This Water Sensitive Paper is useful for easily and quickly evaluating and monitoring spray applications, including droplet densities, penetration, widths, and distribution. It also helps determine the effectiveness of the spray nozzles and ensures you are using the adequate amount of spray. The Reagent paper strips will turning BLUE when in contact with water.
INSTRUCTION TO USE
- Aerial application - for detection of swath width and to evaluate the effects of prop wash, wingtips vortices, and nozzle placement or distribution. Attach the cards onto horizontal support slightly above the ground or plant canopy.
- Orchard sprayers - for evaluation of spray distribution and penetration throughout the tree. Staple the cards to leaves in the upper, center, and lower parts of the tree.
- Field sprayers - for evaluation of spray distribution and droplet density along with the boom. Staple long collectors (26mm x 500mm) to a board and place them across a section of the boom swath.
- Backpack/Hand-held sprayers - for evaluation of spray distribution and droplet density. Place collectors across a single run width. Spray cards can be evaluated by the visual estimate or by counting the droplets under a pocket lens.
NOTE: Collectors must be stored before and after spray exposure under dry conditions in airtight boxes or bags. Gloves should be used for handling the papers to avoid staining and contaminating the papers.
